Michael Hollingsworth – Candidate for City Council District 35

Long-time Brooklynite, Michael Hollingsworth, has resided in Crown Heights, Brooklyn for over 40 years.  He is a tenant organizer who has been fighting for housing justice for years.  Hollingsworth recalled how his passion for activism was sparked in 2016.  At that time, he and other residents of a rent-stabilized apartment building received notices that their apartment building was being converted into million-dollar condominiums.  He says he reached out to the Crown Heights Tenants Union and began working with them to fight the issue.  That would become the first of many fights he would take on with the Crown Heights Tenants Union on behalf of residents of the area.  Michael Hollingsworth wants to continue fighting for the community as City Council Member for District 35, which encompasses Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, and Bedford Stuyvesant. Hollingsworth promises to prioritize tenants’ rights, education reform, and tenants’ reform.  To read more go to www.m4bk.com.
